On Mar. 2nd, we will travel to Fredericksburg to see the rock-musical-comedy "Little Shop of Horrors" at Fredericksburg Theater Center. Attendance is limited to members of the theatre and/or the HCCT Guild. The cost is $40, credit, cash or check, for show and transportation. We will meet at HCCT and leave promptly at noon. pm. Following the show, we will dine at Fredericksburg’s Brewery. (Dinner and drinks are a separate

HCCT is very excited to introduce The Hill Country Junior Players, a new after school program open to children ages 8 to 18. Managing Director Steve Reily will supervise the program that will be taught by several guest artists. “Students will be instructed in all areas of stagecraft in a fun and active environment” said Reily. “The classes will be very hands on and engaging. Students will participate in a wide variety of performance areas such as acting, improvisation and theatre games. We also will cover all technical areas such as set construction, lighting and special effects.”
The ten week session will end with a live performance on April 4th and 5th. Classes begin Jan. 27th and are divided into three age groups:
Elementary (3rd to 5th grade), Mondays 4:15 pm to 5:15 pm
Middle School (6th to 8th grade), Tuesdays 4:15 pm to 5:15 pm
High School (9th to 12th grade).Tuesdays 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm
The sessions are held every Monday and Tuesday. The enrollment fee is $120 and covers the cost of supplies and materials. CAST IN REHEARSALS FOR "KINDERGARDEN"
The cast has been selected by "Willy Wonka" director Jenny Lavery for the musical revue All I Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten opening Thursday, Feb. 13. Based on the best-selling books by Robert Fulghum, Kindergarten takes a funny and insightful look at what is profound in everyday life. A series of delightful songs and stories celebrate our very existence; from the whimsy of childhood to the wisdom of old age.
The cast includes HCCT regulars Becky Barton , Lee Wilson, David Sweigart and Jana Diamond. Debuting on the HCCT is Tana Morris. Mandi Whittlesey is the Musical Director. Deann Randle will serve as Stage Manager.
The Chicago Sun-Times described Kindergarten as, “A refreshingly intimate combination of theatre and storytelling. Gentle…funny…joyous. Sparks of recognition ignited the audience.”
Performances will be Thursday through Sunday, beginning with the Gala Opening Feb. 13, and continue through Feb. 23. The curtain for evening shows is at 7:30 p.m.; for Sunday matinees at 2:15 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults and $9 for students age 16 and under. Tickets can be purchased online at www.thehcct.org.
